Evan Daniel makes art about memorizing the number π. He has memorized the first ten thousand digits (seriously -- although he does make mistakes).
In his practice he recites the digits in philosophically and cognitively significant ways. This is accomplished through objects such as painting and sculpture, performances, and games designed to assist in memorization.
He received his BFA and MFA from RISD in Painting and Digital Media, respectively. Originally from Long Island, NY, he currently lives in Los Angeles.
